Our World Famous Camp Wanna Iguana Summer Program has camps available for kids 3 years right up to 9th grade.  All our amazing summer programs are located at the Community Center and Leo Landroche Field.  This year we are excited to announce that this Camp Wanna Iguana Camp theme this year is  The Rec’s AMAZING RACE!   This means that each week of camp we will be racing and exploring all 7 continents! Each theme week allows us to invent new and creative activities designed just for this camp and our campers, this includes crazy dress up days!  We invite you to check out all the information below on each camp including other miscellaneous information you may need to know before registering your child/ren.

Little “Rec”tiles Kiddie Camp

(ages 3-5 years or going into Kindergarten)

Our Little “Rec”tiles Kiddie Camp program is tailored to fit your little ones summer needs.  From creative arts and crafts projects to good ole summertime outdoor play, they’ll do it all!  Also, the Little “Rec”tiles Kiddie Camp is a great way to expose your child to some summer preschool fun with kids their own age!  This Camp also allows for flexibility in what days you sign up for and how many weeks.  Regardless of what schedule you choose, we have incorporated reserved splash time for all Kiddie Campers in our NEW Aqua Land Splash Pad!  It’s also a great step-up program for our Fall Preschool Playgroup classes.

Camp Wanna Iguana: Adventure Camp (going into grades 1-6)


Rex, our very “hip” green iguana mascot, says he’s ready to “wanna iguana” when planning this year’s fun of wet & wild, crazy & silly, unbelievable special events for the Summer of 2023 Adventure campers participate in a number of cool activities that will encourage their spirit and self-confidence to get up and get going.  So kids, get ready to learn some new hobbies on our Iguana Wanna Fridays, play your favorite sports, games, get creative with arts & crafts and, free recess time to just hang out with your friends, and of course, go on lots of very fun field trips including some additional outdoor adventure-based excursions like kayaking in the Lamprey River! And don’t forget, we now have incorporated reserved splash time for all Adventure Campers during each week in our NEW Aqua Land Splash Pad!

Camp Wanna Iguana:Teen TURF (going into grades 7-9)


Teens, this camp is the perfect opportunity to hang out with friends while participating in some great activities suited just for you!  “Teen Turf” also incorporated adventure base field trips like kayaking and white water rafting!  * There will also be additional impromptu field trips and their regular field trip line-up. Teen Turf is a great summer hang out fest while participating in fun, wet and creative rec we have incorporated reserved splash time for all Teen Turfers in our NEW Aqua Land Splash Pad!

What Rec Group should I register my child in? Age vs Grade Policy:

Rec Camp placement i.e. Rec 1, Rec 2, Rec 3 and Teen Turf will be based on what grade the child will be going into in the fall.  This will remain the case in situations where a child has been held back a grade but is of the age of grade higher.  This is also the case if a child is going to be held back in school the next year, the child will be placed again where the child will be going into in the fall.
