Welcome!
The Sunrise Sunset 55+ Adult Activity Center serves Newmarket and the surrounding areas. We run regular social, education, and health programs, or you can just drop in for a cup of coffee, check out our lending library, or work on a puzzle!
You don’t need to be a resident of Newmarket and membership is always free!
How to become a Sunrise Sunset member
To become a Sunrise Sunset member, just stop in and fill out a Registration and Emergency Contact Form.
Staying Connected
We have a monthly calendar and a quarterly newsletter with information about daily activities, special events, and trips. Get on our email list to have these sent to you each month as well as any last minute reminders of upcoming events.
Up-to-date info and flyers are also posted at the center along with information on local events. So stop on by!
Payment and Registration
We understand sometimes there are uncontrollable situations that make it difficult to attend trips as planned. We strive to allow as much flexibility as possible while still ensuring trips can go on as scheduled for the enjoyment of other members.
• For all trips, the full balance is due one week before the trip date.
• For trips over $20 you must pay a 50% deposit up front.
• If your plans change and you are unable to attend, please let us know as soon as possible! If we are able to fill your seat, a refund will be offered.
• Please note that a $5 processing fee may be applied for any canceled trips over $20, or $3 for trips under $20.
• Refunds are not available if tickets for the trip are pre-bought and we are not able to fill your seat.
• If a trip is canceled or rescheduled to a date you cannot attend, a full refund will be given.
Program and trip registrations/payments may be taken at the Sunrise Sunset Center, the Rec Community Center located at 1 Terrace Drive, by phone, or online. We accept cash, checks, debit, and credit cards (Visa, MasterCard & Discover).
Call or email with any questions!
Would you like to Volunteer?
The more the merrier! Would you like to teach a hobby, give an educational talk, or help out during one of our events? Are you interested in joining our Friends of Newmarket group? Or maybe do some seasonal garden work?
Any help is appreciated! Please contact Bethany at sunrise@newmarketnh.gov.
Looking to Donate?
We gratefully accept donations of coffee and snacks, candy and mints, paper goods, ziplock bags, craft supplies, or books and puzzles in good condition. Gift cards are always welcome in any amount to be used as prizes for events! Sometimes we are looking for specific items, such as garden supplies. Feel free to be in touch about any items you have a question about!
If you’d like to contribute financially or sponsor an event, just talk with Bethany or anyone at Newmarket Recreation. Thank you for your generosity!
Inclement Weather Policy
The Sunrise Sunset Center will be listed on the WMUR Channel 9 closings if severe weather causes us to close for the day. We also post closings on our Facebook page at Sunrise Sunset Activity.
We will close if the Town Offices are closed, if Meals on Wheels is closed, if Newmarket Recreation is closed, or if the Newmarket Schools are closed. If there is a 2 hour delay at the Newmarket Schools then our morning classes will be cancelled.
Please call ahead if you’re unsure we’re open. And stay safe!!!
