Embark on a journey through the strategic world of chess with ChessKidz, where every move matters and every game paints a story. Whether you’re a beginner seeking foundational knowledge or a club player looking to sharpen your skills; this workshop, brought to you by the New Hampshire Chess Club, offers a unique blend of instruction and competition to elevate your game!

• When: Fridays, March 22 – May 17
• Time: 3:00-4:15PM
• Fee: $115 for week session- this includes a 3 Month Chesskid gold membership
• Transportation is available from the NES to the Rec Center

Youth Chess Tournament at the Rec

• When: Saturday, April 20
• Registration (9:15AM-9:45AM) Tournament (10:00AM-12:00PM)
• Fee: $20 
• Chess Kidz discount fee: $10
• *Must be registered with USCF in order to compete in this ranked tournament- this is a separate fee of $20 for the year*
• Don’t worry if you’re not a USCF member yet! USCF memberships can be purchased on-site or through the US Chess Federation website.

• Tournament Details:
  Quad-Style Tournament: Play against 3 opponents of similar skill levels.
  Blitz Time Control: Each player gets 5 minutes for the entire game, with 3-second increments.
  Rounds Begin: 10:00 AM, 10:30 AM, 11:00AM
  Tie-Break Round (if necessary)
  Awards Ceremony: 11:30am-12:00PM
• Prizes will be awarded to the champions of their respective sections.
• Registration:
  Open to youth players from Newmarket (surrounding communities) and Portsmouth Christian Academy.
  Pre-register by April 18th for players outside of Newmarket.
  Drop-ins Welcome for Newmarket players.
  Tournament capped at 30 players, so secure your spot now!
